Doug also provides strategic advisory services to world-class academic institutions. He is an advisor to the University of Chicago’s Pritzker School of Medicine — where he received the distinguished alumnus award in 2011 — the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and the Harvard School of Public Health.
In addition to his advisory services, Doug is also a frequent speaker at leading business, private equity, and life science conferences, including the Wharton Economic Summit, the Booth Annual Management Conference, the American Medical Association, the World Vaccine Congress, and the NanoGagliato Conference.
He has advised numerous VC funds in Australia, the United States, and Israel, and served as an investment professional and member of the investment committee on more than 45 investments at Bay City Capital, a Silicon Valley-based venture capital firm focusing on life sciences industry investments.
